On September 20, Kazakhstan joined the global World Cleanup Day campaign for the fourth time. The large-scale cleanup event covered all regions of the country.

Among the participants were students from Astana International University (AIU) majoring in environmental studies. Under the guidance of Aiman Karabalaeva, a PhD professor and ecologist, they actively participated in cleaning up the area and sorting waste.

«We often participate in similar environmental campaigns: cleanups and forest planting. Today, together with the students, we took the initiative to contribute to improving the environment. The students came on their own initiative to contribute to nature conservation and to remind everyone of the importance of caring for the environment,»- emphasized Aiman Karabalaeva.

Aidana Salamatovna Kydyrova, a lecturer at Astana International University, environmental activist, and 321start project curator, participated in the cleanup. During the event, 187 kilograms of plastic were collected and sent for recycling.

The participation of AIU students in World Cleanup Day was not only an important environmental contribution but also a clear example of how young people understand their responsibility to the future
