As part of its expansion of
international cooperation, Astana International University (AIU) held an
official meeting with a delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Education. The
meeting was attended by Xia Jianhui, Deputy Director of the Study Abroad Center;
Ma Yun, Director of the Inbound Programs Department; and Wang Shan, Project
Manager of the Study Abroad Center.
During the meeting, the parties
discussed prospects for expanding educational cooperation and AIU's
participation in international initiatives. Particular attention was paid to
the following areas:
• international recognition of
diplomas;
• launching joint dual degree
programs;
• developing academic mobility
for students and faculty;
• organizing job fairs with the
participation of Chinese companies;
• sharing experiences in
implementing educational models (including foundation programs).
The President of Astana
International University emphasized that such meetings are not simply formal
visits, but real steps toward creating a global educational space. "We are
confident that developing partnerships with leading Chinese universities and
organizations will open up new academic and career opportunities for our
students, both in Kazakhstan and abroad," he noted.
The Chinese side detailed their
support for international students studying in China, ranging from adaptation
programs and language courses to participation in international job fairs. New
career initiatives were presented, enabling international students to find
employment with international branches of Chinese companies.
Particularly interesting was the
experience of organizing flexible study formats: the 2+2 model (two years in
Kazakhstan and two in China), with the possibility of obtaining two diplomas.
This opens a direct path to international certification and a highly
competitive profession.
It is worth noting that the
parties agreed on key ideas that will underpin further partnership. The
discussion focused on academic exchange, the launch of joint educational
programs, international recognition of diplomas, and expanding student
opportunities for professional development and employment.
