For his contribution to strengthening friendship
between the peoples of Kazakhstan and China, Duan Peng, Rector of Beijing
Language and Culture University, was awarded the Order of Dostyk, 2nd Class.
The award was presented by Shakhrat Nuryshev, Ambassador of the Republic of
Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China.
The head of the Kazakh diplomatic mission noted the
particular importance of the award, as Beijing Language and Culture University
has made a significant contribution to training personnel for Kazakhstan.
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received his
education at this educational institution. Today, the university consistently
continues this mission, educating Kazakh citizens both in Beijing and at its
branch in Astana.
As is known, the branch of Beijing Language and
Culture University was officially opened at Astana International University in
2024 with the participation of the heads of state. Currently, approximately 250
students are studying at the branch. The Order of Dostyk is awarded for merits
in strengthening peace, friendship, and cooperation between peoples and is one
of the most significant state awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
