Bachelor's degree programs

Within the framework of cooperation between Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and Astana International University (AIU), double-diploma programs for students of Kazakhstan and Central Asia have been opened. Bachelor's and Master's degree programs will be taught in 2+2 or 3+1 format, which implies studying both in Kazakhstan and China. Students will be able to receive diplomas from both universities upon completion of the program.

The main areas of study are:

- "Bachelor of Arts in Chinese" (Chinese language and literature, Chinese-English translation)

- "Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages".

Dual-Degree Program 3+1: “6B01711 - English and Chinese Languages”

Duration: 3+1 (3 years in Astana, 1 year in Beijing)

Tuition Fee: 1,300,000 KZT

Degree Awarded: Bachelor of Education under the dual-degree program 3+1 “6B01711 - English and Chinese Languages.”

Program Goal: Training bachelor’s degree holders capable of effectively teaching Chinese and organizing the educational process in various institutions. The program develops knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for teaching Chinese, conducting methodological work, and fostering the key competencies and functions of a Chinese language teacher.

Advantages: Two international degrees:

          1.       Diploma from Beijing Language and Culture University.

          2.       Diploma from Astana International University. 

Requirements for Applicants:

          1.       HSK4 Certificate or interview with a professor from BLCU Kazakhstan.

          2.       UNT Certificate: Elective subjects — English and World History. Minimum score: 75. 

Dual-Degree Program 3+1: “6B02303 - Translation Studies: Chinese Language”

          •        Duration: 3+1 (3 years in Astana, 1 year in Beijing)

          •        Tuition Fee: 1,300,000 KZT

Degree Awarded: Bachelor of Education under the dual-degree program 3+1 “6B02303 - Translation Studies: Chinese Language.”

Program Goal: Training bachelor’s degree holders capable of performing professional translation from and into Chinese. The program provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for work, including advanced linguistic training and translation competencies.

Advantages: Two international degrees:

          1.       Diploma from Beijing Language and Culture University.

          2.       Diploma from Astana International University.

Requirements for Applicants:

          1.       HSK4 Certificate or interview with a professor from BLCU Kazakhstan.

          2.       UNT Certificate: Elective subjects — English and World History. Minimum score: 55.
