On April
18, 2025, the Pedagogical Institute hosted a scientific seminar as part of the
implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
within the "Geography" educational program. The event was organized
in collaboration with JSC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary." The seminar's
speaker, Mr. Berik Kumarovich Rakhimzhanov, Director of the Spatial Data
Analysis Department at JSC "National Company Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary,"
delivered a lecture titled "Space Monitoring in the Interests of

During the
seminar, students explored real-world applications of Earth remote sensing
(ERS) data obtained from KazEOSat-1, KazEOSat-2, and KazSTSat satellites in
addressing practical tasks in the following areas:The Astana Times

Environmental
protection and natural resource conservation (SDGs 13, 15);
· Sustainable
agriculture (SDG 2);
· Rational
land use (SDGs 11, 15);
·
Monitoring
of emergencies and climate change impacts (SDGs 11, 13);
·
Waste
management and prevention of illegal land use (SDG 12).
Particular
attention was given to:

Automating
land use analysis using the JerInSpectr platform;
·
Integrating
ERS data with cadastral and environmental information systems;
·
Developing
the AGROSPACE platform to optimize agricultural activities and provide state
support to agricultural producers.
The seminar
vividly demonstrated how space monitoring technologies and data can serve as
effective tools for decision-making at various levels of governance,
contributing to the achievement of national sustainable development goals.
The
